Fruit Crisp

  1. Cook your fruit first and put in an oven dish - this could be apples, plums, rhubarb etc.
  2. Heat 1 oz sugar and 2 oz butter
  3. Dice up 4 slices of stale bread and stir into the mixture
  4. Cover the fruit with these dice and add a little more butter and sugar
  5. Cook No 5/175 until crisp - about 25 minutes.

Adjust the quantities and the amount of butter and sugar to suit the fruit (more for rhubarb) and the number of eaters.
