- Cook your fruit first and put in an oven dish - this could be apples, plums, rhubarb etc.
- Heat 1 oz sugar and 2 oz butter
- Dice up 4 slices of stale bread and stir into the mixture
- Cover the fruit with these dice and add a little more butter and sugar
- Cook No 5/175 until crisp - about 25 minutes.
Adjust the quantities and the amount of butter and sugar to suit the fruit (more for rhubarb) and the number of eaters.
